I was excited to be out Plein air painting next to the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine once again. Looking down to the shore, I decided to make the softly lapping of the water as it approach the rocky shore my focal point.  In Hidden Beach, Oil in linen, 12x16 in., the textures in the wave action contrasted sharply with the smooth sunlit sand. The sound of the gently advancing tide that would soon cover the beach was music to my ears. This Plein air painting was given a studio finish.
