The west side of Monhegan Island, Maine offers visitors views of Mañana Island and a little sheltered harbor nestled between the two islands. I went on a working vacation there for 11 days. It was shear heaven to be on the island which artists still gather to paint. One sunny afternoon, I began painting Mañana Legacy 8x10 Oil on linen inspired by the light on the lobster boat and the colors reflecting on Mañana. I could paint en plein air there for a lifetime and always come up with new work. There is something about the light that seems different than on the mainland.
