After two days of rain the skies began to clear. I had been visiting a good friend in Bath, Maine and we went out for a walk. On the way back, I saw this view of a neighboring home. Struck by the gleaming light reflecting on the bumpy road in Up the Hill, this studio painting uses a radial composition and color harmony to convey my emotional response to the light breaking through the clearing skies.
