Fascinated by all the colors that emerge from a seemly barren landscape after winter, I spent several mornings over 3 weeks on this grassy hill painting the striking view below. As the landscape transforms, it generates optimism and excitement for the Spring and Summer to come. This regeneration inspired me to capture the landscape's essence in paint. Mount Tom Spring, depicts a craggy 1,073-foot mountain with the flooded Saco River waterway below. I focused on painting several areas of interest all subordinate to Mount Tom by rendering the season's subdued and sunlit hues in harmony.
