Dianna painted Beach Plum Farm Barns while standing in the shade on very hot plein air painting day to Beach Plum Farm in Ogunquit, Maine. Dianna was intrigued by the shadows on the barns and how she might experiment with the shadow colors. She added the finishing touches in the studio. These barns are located on a 22-acre old New England salt-water farm with a walking trail through fields, community gardens and leading to a salt marsh of the Atlantic. The half mile loop walk reveals bayberry, beach plums and many varieties of coastal birds.
