I discovered this alleyway while exploring the Third Street South area in Naples, Florida.  Excited by the scene which brought back memories of my Italy trip a few years back, I was attracted to the quietness of the quaint shops and restaurants before they open.  Determined to paint this early morning scene en Plein air, I returned three times to work on location. On the last visit,  a gust of wind came up and lifted my easel off the ground. Quickly, I grabbed the easel leg but the painting slid out of its holder and fell onto the ground! I let out a gasp, secured my easel and rushed to my painting which had landed right side up.  Luckily, the painting was not damaged! After that painting session was over, any finishing touches for Early Arrival  were added back in the studio.
