I created A Place to Be 9x12 Oil in linen while visiting Indian Point, Georgetown, Maine during an August painting trip.  There was something really special about evening light on the seascape that day which needed to convey. I was inspired to capture a sense of the place with is humble dwelling, magnificent shoreline and varied, almost misty light patterns on the water. Sometimes selecting the right title for a painting can be a challenge so I often will ask for suggestions. This title was chosen by a dear friend who said that the painting looked like "a place to be."
