I am most grateful for my dear husband Chris and daughter Melissa who have worked tirelessly to care for me. My husband wrote in my Valentine's card poking fun, "Do you need any more ice, coffee, prunes, apple chips, figs, water, pillows, phone, computer, pencil, extension cords, pills, breakfast, lunch or anything else?". We were all laughing at the non-stop errands associated with recovery. No wonder I love them.
In truth, being laid up has given me time to think about art all day long, including my own. Self-reflection is necessary, so I have been using the days to consider my own practice. The last couple of months, I have been reading and analyzing, taking an online workshop, looking, studying and comparing, all of which has helped to keep me going. In my mind, lots of inner growth has occurred and I am excited to see my future paintings. So while my foot continues to heal, I will, no doubt, find a way to paint. Those creative juices are beginning to stir and I look forward to taking a neighborhood walk!
