I was delighted to spend a couple of days on Monhegan Island painting the sea. The view of this Plein air painting is from the shore of Lobster Cove looking towards Christmas Cove. I was interested in expressing the textures created by the August light that morning. A relatively calm ocean brought focus to the little breaking wave hitting the shoreline boulder.
