It was late summer but signs of early Autumn were visible in Maine. I have always been intrigued by islands and this little one stole the show with its brightly colored tree.  A Touch of Fall 6x6" Oil on Gessobord was painted while I shared the Damariscotta Lake dock with a giant spider. On this windy day, the water was constantly moving so I worked to express the movement in the island's reflection while keeping the colorful tree as the focal point.
